Reviewing suspected spam at KGC.cc Mail
(Domain based Gmail hosted by Google)

To review suspected spam go to:

http://mail.google.com/hosted/kgc.cc/

You should see a login page which looks like this ...

Screen Shot

If you haven't already, bookmark this page. Enter your primary username (you may also have nicknames to which people can also send eMail, but here you have to enter the one which was setup first, your primary username.) Also enter your password and I recommend checking the Remember Me box. Then press Sign In. You should see a screen which looks like ...

Screen Shot

Click on the Spam folder (highlighted above on the left) and you'll see the last 50 suspected spam messages. Under settings (also highlighted above) you can change it to show you 25, 50 or 100 at a time ...

Screen Shot

Scan down the list, if you see any messages which are NOT spam, check the little box next to them. Then at the bottom (or top) of the list click on Not Spam. This will move those message to your KGC.cc Inbox. If you're not sure it is spam you can click on the message itself, and if it's not spam forward it to yourself directly out of the spam folder (see below).

If you move one or two messages to the Inbox by saying they are Not Spam, one or two new ones will appear at the bottom of the list. Be sure they are not spam and then click on the word all; which will check the boxes next to every message in the list. Then press Delete Forever.

Screen Shot

Note that the word all and the Delete Forever appear at both the top and bottom of the list for your convenience; you can use either. If you haven't looked at your spam in a while, you could have 100's so you'll have to repeat the process deleting 50 or a 100 at a time. (The screen shot above actually shows deleting the second group of 50. I started with 130 spam messages, moved one, deleted 50 and was down to 79 in the screen shot above. You can see where it says 1-50 of 79 at both the top and bottom of the list.)

In the screen shot below the number of suspected spams left is 32 because 3 more came while I was reviewing the last batch. After looking at the one highlighted, I decided I wanted to keep it ... it was a message I had sent someone that got blocked by their ISP as spam. I sent it directly from Verizon, but this ISP decided, like Comcast decided too much spam came from KGC.cc, that too much spam came from Verizon and blocked all messages from anyone using Verizon. This is the problem with letting an ISP's spam catcher "protect" you ... too often messages you want fail to get through.

Screen Shot

I checked the little box next to the message I wanted to keep, then pressed Not Spam and it moved to my Inbox. Next I clicked all and pressed Delete Forever. Then I clicked on the Inbox (highlighted above) to go deal with the two I saved. In the Inbox I then clicked on the Verizon message and got the screen below.

(The numbers that appear next to the folders, (3) next to Inbox below and (31) next to Spam are the number of un-read messages, not the total number of messages in the folder. As you see above there were actually 32 messages in the spam folder, and there are 4 messages in the Inbox, it's just that I looked at one before moving it from spam to the Inbox, so it now is considered read.)

Screen Shot

There are two ways to forward a message (to yourself in this case). One is to click on more options (highlighted above) which opens up the gray box shown below.

Screen Shot

You can then click on Forward which opens up a forwarding section at the bottom of the message and jumps you to it and positions your cursor so you can start typing the name of the recipient. The second way to forward a message is to scroll to the bottom and click on the word Forward as shown here ...

Screen Shot

Note below how the forwarding box is now displayed, and if I start typing ... here I've typed two letters "wr" and it finds the most recently used address which starts with whatever letters you've typed so far. (The address its found is highlighted.) Type as many characters as you need and then press Enter and it will complete the address. Then press Send. (If you're forwarding the message to someone else, you might want to say something about why you are forwarding it; you can do by typing your comments in the area above "---Forwarded message---".)

Screen Shot

That's the process of forwarding messages. If KGC.cc mail is forwarding all your messages to your current ISP's mailbox, you can do the forward while looking at the messages in the spam folder ... you don't actually have to move them to the Inbox except to save them in case the forward fails. If you are using option 2, where you are downloading messages in your KGC.cc mail folder to you eMail program, you don't have to forward the messages. Once you've moved them to your Inbox, they will download automatically the next time you get your mail.
