Graphics Organizers

• Frist Choice:  FastStone because the price is right. This is a program to review, organize, edit and print your graphics. It includes basic editing features, run slide shows, eMails automatically downsized images, etc. I've even created over 5 hours of video clips showing how to use various features.
   
• Old Favorite:  ACDSee a program to review, organize, edit and print your graphics. It includes the basic editing features you need initially and also runs slides shows. It was the only program I use for printing my graphics until I got Qimage.
   
• Alternatives:  ThumbsPlus is another program in this class and may be equally good, I just happen to really like ACDSee. You can download both ACDSee and ThumbsPlus for a 30 free trail and then buy the one you like best. I bought the ACDSee Power Pack, but am not sure it is worth the extra cost -- I like FotoSlate for printing Album pages, but have never really gotten excited about the FotoCanvas, the more advanced photo editor included in the ACDSee Power Pack.) Before I found FastStone, I made a detailed comparison of ACDSee and ThumbsPlus ... someday I need to update this comparison to include FastStone.
   
• Updates:  The current version of ACDSee is 8 ... I REALLY like it and highly recommend it and it's build-in Editor. Although you can download many of these programs from the internet, check for good deals on boxed versions which include printed manuals. Use internet shopping tools like: CNet.com, Froogle.com, PriceGrabber.com, etc.
   
  There is now a photo organizer built-into Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 ... I didn't like the one built-into Adobe's Professional Editor (Photoshop 8 CS) so probably won't like this one either. (Now that CS 2 and Elements 4 are out, I still turn off their organizers.)
   
  There is also a photo organizer (Paint Shop Photo Albums) that comes with Paint Shop Pro which I used in the past and liked.
